Orlaith is a European Patent Attorney, Irish Registered Patent Attorney and UK Chartered Patent Attorney. Orlaith graduated from University College Dublin with an honours degree in Electronic Engineering. Prior to joining Tomkins she worked as a design engineer, specialising in the areas of telecoms and digital consumer electronics. Orlaith is also currently studying for an MSc. in Applied Computing for Technologists. Orlaith specialises in the drafting and prosecution of patents in the fields of telecommunications, ICT and electronics. Orlaith has extensive experience in the prosecution of European Patent Applications, including attending Oral Proceedings at the European Patent Office during patent prosecution and opposition. Orlaith can advise on all aspects of Irish, UK and European patent law and practice, from searching and prosecution, to infringement and validity.Orlaith is a fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Patent Agents and is a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney. Orlaith is also a member of the Education Committee of the Irish Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys.
